MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS
At the age of 16, Liam Heeley decided to quit college in Ashton-under-Lyne and got a job at Selfridges. Fashion-forward, the job gave him the chance to afford to buy the latest clothes, which he would use in outfit pictures he’d share with his followers on social media.
Now, almost ten years later, Liam has managed to photograph the likes of Lady Gaga and Floyd Mayweather Jr., and has started his own agency in Manchester where he helps other creatives get their head start in the city.

UNION COLIVING
Back in 2022, Liam Heeley and Molly Ball brought their dream to life with the birth of HEADS. Two years later, the pair are hosting monthly meets for creatives in the city.
Tell us a bit about you two and how you met?
L: “My name’s Liam Heeley – I’m a photographer based in Manchester, and in July 2022, we launched HEADS.”
“Me and Molly launched HEADS together, and we launched it with the aim to create Manchester’s creative platform, because we felt like there was a platform missing in Manchester that pulled all the creatives together. Manchester is a city that’s made of creativity, it’s made of all these different types of creatives, whether that be artists, producers, singers, photographers, models.”

GRM DAILY
This December, HEADS Creative is breaking new ground through a collaboration with Street Cartel Studios. Together, they’re presenting two special shows at Jimmy’s in Ancoats, highlighting some of Manchester’s most compelling emerging talent with a radical new approach at the centre of it all.
More than just a pair of shows, this initiative is built entirely around supporting artists first, ensuring 100% of ticket revenue plus the matched contributions go directly into their pockets. And every drink purchased at Jimmy’s helps sustain an independent venue committed to offering performers a free space to play.
These events come together with the support of partners who believe in championing local talent.

MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS
The Bonfire Night performance from Josh marked the first of three special gigs taking place at Jimmy’s over the next few days with a very important, and unique, meaning behind it. Each artist will get paid 100% of the ticket proceeds from their shows.
Spearheaded by the Manchester-based agency HEADS, which is run by Liam Heeley and Molly Ball and supports the city-borough's creatives, the project aims to pay attention to the grassroots stars of today who don’t often get the opportunities to earn a living from their talent.

MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS
A bar near the city centre is set to make history later this month as it hosts an ‘unprecedented’ set of shows in Manchester which will mark a first of its kind and will pave the way for the artists of tomorrow.
Last month, the HEADS creative agency held three shows from independent performers at Ancoats venue Jimmy’s where they would all receive 100% of the ticket proceeds. At the time, singer Tabi Gazele said the project made her feel supported and valued as an artist.

MANCHESTER'S FINEST
If that sounds like things moved fast, the pace quickened once HEADS was tabled. Understanding the devastating impact of the pandemic not just on creative economies, but the mental health and head space of creative professionals, the concept for this event-cum-publication - Originally supposed to “just be a cute little zine” - was born from a desire to shine a light on people for who the last two years have been problematic, if not impossible.
In and among all that they also found time to secure the biggest reveal imaginable. On the evening of Wednesday 29th June, their images and branding will be splashed on Europe’s second largest LED billboard, at Victoria Warehouse in Trafford Park, for one hour.

TRIBE AIRPORT MANCHESTER HOTEL
We are excited to announce a new creative partnership between TRIBE Manchester Airport and HEADS Gallery / HEADS Creative, bringing vibrant local artwork into our Social Hub at Manchester Aiport. This collaboration isn’t just about decoration - it’s about community, boosting emerging talent and transforming spaces into places that inspire.

MANCHESTER'S FINEST
HEADS will team up with local beauty business Doll Parts to host a Women’s Wellness Retreat. Hoping to combat social media stigmas, the event will provide a space for women to connect. Through empowering discussions lead by Sophie Lee, private dining experiences, group meditation sessions and relaxing treatments, HEADS aim for all guests to leave feeling refreshed and reset, and hopefully with some new friends.
